Allison's wedding dress

(Phillip said that all good stories start with "once upon a time"), there was a beautiful princess named Allison who was waiting on Prince Charming to come sweep her off her feet. Well one day, a boy MAN named Phillip entered her life, and she forgot all about that whole "Prince Charming" thing.

They met through a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend. Ok well, not that many friends, but you get my drift. She was in the prime of her youth at 16; he was older and wiser at 19. The world was their oyster. But it turned out that neither one of them really liked oysters, and the distance (trust me, Tuscaloosa and Birmingham are REALLY far apart) proved too much for this budding romance. The Prince and Princess went their separate ways.

A few years later, Allison made her way to Tuscaloosa where she was reunited with her long-lost Prince. The two spent the next few years getting to know each other all over again. They walked each other to class, enjoyed Alabama football games, and did all of the things that best friends do. The foundation of their relationship was their faith, and as they shared life together, their relationship grew stronger… just like any good biblical fairytale.

Fast forward the story a few years, and we find ourselves in the present day… October 1, 2010 to be exact. It was a day like any other day. Both Phillip and Allison put in a full 8 hours at their respective offices (lame that the Prince and Princess both have to work… this IS a fairytale, right?). Then, that afternoon, Phillip asked Allison to meet up with him after work; she obliged, and headed his way.

When she arrived, the Princess found her Prince standing aside his noble steed… his '97 Honda. She quickly realized that she was in a very special place - a parking lot. This sentimental landmark is where the two would meet for their dates years ago; this is where the couple shared their very first kiss. Once she pulled up, Phillip instructed Allison to get out of the car and close her eyes because he had a surprise for her. Excited and eager, she closed her eyes not knowing what to expect. Phillip then asked her what she would say if he had 2 tickets on the 50 yard line to the Alabama vs. Florida football game. Elated, she smiled, and keeping her eyes closed, she said "I'd say ‘yay’ and ‘yes please’". Phillip then informed her that he did not have the tickets. Allison, being the huge Tide fan that she is, was understandably bummed and really confused. After telling Phillip how mean he was for getting her hopes up like that, the Princess heard her Prince say, "But I do have this… you can open your eyes now". She reluctantly opened her eyes, and to her surprise, she saw Phillip down on one knee, with a ring in his hand. He then said four words that Allison could not believe she was hearing; he said, "Will you marry me?" Allison, in her shock and excitement, teared up, asked Phillip if he was, in fact, serious, then proclaimed a teary, yet enthused "YES!".

The rest, as they say, is history… (if you don't believe me, watch it for yourself!)
